In a shocking incident that took place today, a 63-year-old retired professor and former principal of Meera Girls College committed suicide by over consuming sleeping pills. It is alleged that the cause of the mishap is psychological disturbance. Professor Roshan Lal Vyas, resident of Samta Nagar, Bedla has died due to overdose of celphos pills. According to his brother in-law Bherulal Bhatt, the deceased professor called him soon after taking pills in the afternoon and informed him on phone that he was going to die then. Immediately, Bherulal informed Vyas’s elder son Girish who is also a professor at a college at Badgaon. Both of them went to his house at Samta Nagar where they found Roshan Lal in an unconscious state. Roshan Lal was immediately taken to M.B hospital where he died during the treatment. The information of the incidence was given to Sukher Police Station. According to the S.H.O of Sukher Police Station, Roshan Lal has committed suicide because he was mentally disturbed from the last few months, as has been informed to police by his family members. Girish informed police, “My father Roshan Lal was mentally sick from past few months and was also hospitalized many a times and was also taken to Ahmadabad for treatment.” According to the sources Roshan Lal was principal of Meera Girls College for few years. Two of his sons Girish and Mukesh Vyas are also Professors at Government Colleges, one is posted at Chittorgarh and other is at Badgaon while his youngest son Mahesh works at Jay Polymers Udaipur. .The body of the deceased was handed over to the family members after postmortem.
