Hospital Contract-Employees on ‘Pen Down’
Contract based employees working in various departments of M.B. hospital laid ‘pen down’ strike for more than three hours to protest against government’s policies regarding their salary structure.
Contract based employees working in various departments of M.B. hospital laid ‘pen down’ strike for more than three hours to protest against government’s policies regarding their salary structure.
Employees of Child Hospital, Maternity Department and Cardiology Department of M.B. hospital stopped their work to support their cause.
Rajesh Chouhan, Branch President of INTUC informed, “We want to bring this to the notice of higher officials that contractual laborers are working on just Rs. 3000 per month from a long time and now it has become difficult for them to bear all their expenses.”
He also informed that at present more than 350 contract-based employees are working at M.B. hospital and all these workers are demanding for permanent job status since a long time so that they are not exploited by the contractors employing them.
