Out of several hundreds of pilgrims from Udaipur who are still stuck in flood ridden Uttrakhand, the fortunate family of Harish Rajani returned home today, after closely witnessing the natural calamity.

Rajani, Chairman of Sunrise Group of Institutions left for pilgrimage with 27 members of his family on 8th June and reached their first destination Har Ki Pauri (Haridwar) on 9th.

Things were moving quite normal till 13th June when Rajani’s family had already been to Yamnotri and Uttar Kashi, but when they were on their way to Gangotri, they were forced to return amid bad conditions of road due to continuous rain.

Harish Rajani said, “We decided to return to Uttar Kashi and stayed there for one night. Next day in the morning we moved towards Kedarnath, but got stuck in traffic jam at a place called Raam Baan, we waited for 12 hours in traffic and there we felt something was going wrong, yet we continued the journey.”

On the night of 16th June, we decided to take rest in the bus itself which was parked at the corner of a bridge Karan Pragya. In the mid night, a police officer came inside and asked the bus driver to move ahead as it was a risky place to park the bus.

The police officer said that there was a rest house 2 km far from the place, where we could find some shelter.

We did as the officer told us and on the next day morning we heard news the horrifying news that the place where we parked last night is completely wiped out in flood along with 70 vehicles.

We stayed there for next two days, until the roads were cleaned up by administration.

Then, finally we decided not to move further and with the help of our driver and spotter we took a short cut road towards Meerut. On 18th we reached Meerut and next day to Delhi. From Delhi our friends arranged private bus and at last today morning we reached Udaipur.
