In what is arguably one of the biggest breakthroughs by the Udaipur Police, a liquor consignment worth more than Rs. 1 Crore has been seized in a search operation carried out early this morning, one person has been arrested while another managed to escape the scene. The operation was carried out by the Pratap Nagar Police station.

Under the direction of Udaipur Police Superintendent, Hari Prasad Sharma, a team of police barricaded the highway after receiving the tip-off from informers.

Two trucks carrying 2009 Cartons of Beer and Whisky labeled ‘Only to be Sold in Haryana’ were discovered to be smuggling the illegal alcohol from Delhi to Surat at 6’O Clock in the morning.

The two truck drivers were carrying receipts of Rs 1.25 Lacs and Rs 2.45 Lacs under the name of S.K. Agro Industrial Pvt. Ltd. Some fake number plates were also found in the trucks.

“The seized liquor consignment seized cannot be sold in Rajasthan, neither will it be sent back to Haryana because of legal reasons”, said S.P. Sharma when asked about the actions that will be taken on the seized consignment.
