In a city which is striving to be a part of the Smart City League in all aspects, an appalling incident came in light on Friday where a father couldn't carry his deceased son’s dead body back to his village as he had a love marriage and was abstain from the village by the Panchayat.

In a city which is striving to be a part of the Smart City League in all aspects, an appalling incident came in light on Friday where a father couldn’t carry his deceased son’s dead body back to his village as he had a love marriage and was abstain from the village by the Panchayat.

The deceased victim Rajendra (24) s/o Prabhu Lal Bonkar of Banswada had left the village with his wife upon the Panchayat’s order of a punishment after his marriage to a girl against the consent of the families in September 2013. The Panchayat ordered them to never return to the village, even after death, said Rajendra’s father.

The victim Rajendra was undergoing treatment at MB Hospital over a month due to prolonged jaundice. The helpless father cremated his son’s body in Udaipur die to mentioned reasons, abstaining the mother and brother to have his last look. Even the wife is in sorrow as she is left alone, as her side of the family had broken relations with her, as well.

The couple, after being thrown out of the village left Banswara and moved to Ghatol where Rajendra started working as a private school teacher. Suddenly, after a month and a half, he was diagnosed with jaundice and was receiving treatment at a local hospital, before shifting here in MB Hospital, Rajendra’s wife added.

Prabhu Lal Bonkar said that he wishes to accept and take back his daughter-in-law but due to the pressures of the Panchayat, he is helpless. His family was given clear instructions to not to maintain any relations or else he will have to face harsh consequences.
