Memorandum against High Court Order by Builders Association

The members of Udaipur Builders Association (UBA) addressed the local media to discuss the problems of shortage of sand for construction work that all the builders are confronting presently.
The programme which started with a prayer was followed by a discussion in which Shanti LaL Jain, General Secretary of the UBA said, “The miseries and discomfort of the builders has increased manifold after the order has been passed by the High Court to preserve the sand. There are around 1000 people who are directly or indirectly connected to the construction business including contractors, labors, suppliers, truck owners etc.”
The percentage increase in the rates of various construction commodities were also discussed in the conference between April 2011 and April 2012 There was an increase of 25% in the rates of cement.
Dinesh Kothari, Senior Vice-president of UBA said informed that DLC rates have increased by 25% in the last one year.
The builders expressed their disagreement with the order of the High Court which states not to extract sand (bajri) from the rivers.
Kothari also added that if this problem will not be solved soon then we will not be able to construct flats and buildings for their customers.
On this occasion Shanti Lal Jain, General Secretary; Lokesh Coudhary , President ; Dinesh Kothari, Senior Vice -president and Shyam .B Gupta, Patron of the association were present and Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Congress Secretary marked his presence in the conference as the guest.
After the conference the members marched to the Collectorate to present the memorandum.
