Rajasthan Teacher’s Association (National) submitted a memorandum in the name of District Collector protesting against the flaws in the process followed by the Deputy Director of Secondary Education Department for promotion of teachers from third salary grade to second salary grade.
The association members first protested in front of the District Education Office and also shouted slogans against the District Education Office. Members then moved to the collectorate where they handed over the memorandum to ADM and requested him to escalate their demands to higher officials.
The protesting members said that the transfer orders for the teachers had been passed on 27th July 2013 but till today the list of transfer has not been uploaded on the internet. Resultantly, teachers of six districts of the division have been feeling the pinch. The members requested the concerned officer to upload the list as soon as possible.
In the memorandum, members also mentioned that teachers in Udaipur should first be transferred to vacant seats in Udaipur rather than shifting them to other districts. They further claimed that people with serious illness, widows and single women were also not given respite from transfers despite presenting relevant certificates.
The members mentioned that there is a complete unrest within the teacher fraternity as a result of these process flaws and if their demands are not taken up then the protest may turn violent.
