Two new born babies were abandoned by their mothers yesterday at MB Hospital. Visitors to the Janana Ward at 7 PM yesterday, noticed a baby girl lying in the Mahesh Ashram’s cradle outside the ward.
Additionally, a new born baby boy, delivered the day before yesterday, was also abandoned by his mother at the Paediatric Ward No. 5.
As informed by Dr. Poonam Poswal, Deputy Superintendent of the Paediatric Wards, this incident occurred at 1PM yesterday, when the mother of the child left the baby on the bed and informed the nursing staff, asking for time out to hand over a bag to her relative who was visiting her. When she did not return after a long time, the Nursing Staff started searching for her as the baby had begun to cry. After an unsuccessful search, the baby was handed over to the nursing staff who took care of the baby.
While the Mahesh Ashram administration have taken the baby girl with them, the boy is being currently looked after by the Nursing Staff at the Paediatric Ward.
