Nearly one hundred nursing students laid mass protest today outside MB Hospital and demanded the arrest of three MBBS students who allegedly assaulted a nursing student last night.

The protestors have warned to continue their dharna till the administration takes an action against the culprits. Additional police force was deployed to control any law and order situation.

According to the victim Manish Sharma, a third year nursing student who was on night duty at emergency ward, “Three MBBS students came to hospital for treatment last night (one of them was injured), a resident doctor on duty asked me to respond to them. While treatment, they started misbehaving with me but when I complained to the resident doctor, he didn’t react and all of them assaulted me.”

Another nursing student, Bhupendra, rushed to rescue Manish but he was also subjected to physical abuse, said the nursing students.

Disturbed with the incident, nursing students in large number gathered outside hospital and started protesting against the accused MBBS students.
