One dies as tree falls on auto rickshaw
An auto rickshaw driver died after being severely injured when a tree fell on his auto. The accident occurred today morning at Shastri circle, near Gurunanak School. Muhammad Ayub Chipa, 40, resident of Chipa Mohalla, Ayad was declared dead by doctors of M.B hospital today morning at around 10.40 am, after he was badly injured when a tree fall on his auto; he was brought there by the other auto drivers.

Mohammad Ayub, a driver for Route No. 25 was fatally injured when an old peepal tree near Gurunanak School fell on him while he was crossing the spot.
A fire fighting unit was informed by Aslam, relative of the deceased and with the help of crane they pulled the tree away from auto. The injured auto driver was pulled out and rushed to M.B. Hospital where he was admitted in Ward no. 16 at around 9.20 am.
While he was being treated, at that very instance, he breathed his last. The reason for death was severe injuries on the head and chest.
Later, the members of the Muslim Mahasabha, along with the relatives of Ayub gathered at the Collectorate and demanded a compensation of Rs. 5 lac as the old tree was a cause of concern for quite some time and according to sources, requests have earlier been made to the city administration for removing the tree.
