Picnic turns into tragedy for family as two drown in Badi Lake
A Sunday picnic turned into a disaster for the family of Ganpat Bakliya, resident of Surajpol after his 16-year-old son Deepesh drowned in Badi Lake today afternoon. While attempting to save Deepesh, his aunt Sangeeta Nimawat (55), resident of Bedla also drowned.
A Sunday picnic turned into a disaster for the family of Ganpat Bakliya, resident of Surajpol after his 16-year-old son Deepesh drowned in Badi Lake today afternoon. While attempting to save Deepesh, his aunt Sangeeta Nimawat (55), resident of Bedla also drowned.
Two other women of the family, who jumped in to save the victims were rescued and admitted to MB Hospital.
The families were on a picnic at Badi Lake, 12 kms from Udaipur since today morning.
According to some relatives, all of them were enjoying near the lake, when Deepesh a student of 11th standard first went into the deep water and started drowning. Seeing him in trouble, his aunt Sangeeta tried to save him, but she too drowned with him.
The heart wrenching incident shook the family and near community members. Dozens of people from the community rushed to the hospital.
Deepesh along with many of the family members was bathing in the lake, but afte few minutes, he went into the deep water and started shouting for help. Sangeeta who was inside the water, tried to save him, but also drowned.
During the whole incident, all men of the family were far from them and were not able to save either Deepesh or Sangeeta.
