Pilgrimage to Bihar Sharif unsafe over Naxal Activities: Muslim Mahasabha

Members of Muslim Mahasabha presented a memorandum to the commissioner of Devsthan today and appealed to add religious places of South India in the beneficiary program initiated by Rajasthan Government for senior citizens under Teerth Yatra Yojna – 2013.

According to the memorandum, the Muslim religious places like Dargah of Bihar Sharif were selected in the scheme, but due to naxalite activities in Bihar it is quite unsafe for pilgrims. Muslim Mahasabha appealed to add the famous shrine of Bande Nawaz at Gulbarga, Karnataka and a dargah at Machlipatanam (Chota Nagaur) in the Teerth Yatra Yojna – 2013.

The members visited Devsthan and handed over the memorandum to S.L. Nagda, commissioner of Devsthan.

Haji Mohammad Baksh, president of the organization said that pilgrims will be enthralled if the places in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are also added in the Teerth Yatra Yojna 2013.

Muslim Mahasabha also appealed government for installing strong security measures for pilgrims in naxal affected regions.
