'Will Identify, Track and Punish...' PM’s First Public Reaction on Pahalgam Attack
In an unusual switch from Hindi to English, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thundered a warning loud and clear at a Bihar rally to perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack
April 24, 2025 - “We will pursue them to the ends of the world... India's spirit will never be broken and terrorism will not go unpunished. Every effort will be made to ensure justice is done. The entire nation is firm in this resolve and everyone who believes in humanity is with us”: Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Modi was speaking on the Pahalgam attack publicly for the first time after the horrific massacre on April 22 in Pahalgam in which around 28 civilians were killed by terrorists mercilessly.
Addressing a rally in Bihar’s Madhubani district today, April 24, the Prime Minister issued a warning loud and clear to the perpetrators of this crime. But what was surprising was the switch of language from Hindi to English to ensure that the world does not miss even a word of his strong message.
“"Today from the soil of Bihar I say to the whole world. India will identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth," said PM Modi in English.
The PM is known to always speak in Hindi but uses a mix of both Hindi and English on some occasions, especially when he is talking to an international audience.
He also thanked people and leaders of countries who have stood with India in its hour of crisis and grief. The European Union, the United States, Israel, Russia, and China have unitedly condemned the Pahalgam attack.
