Udaipur, May 19, 2025 - The State's electricity corporations have recommended an increase in electricity tariffs on the grounds of regulatory assets (losses, loans, interest and other expenses). The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) had invited expert opinions on the petition submitted by the State's electricity corporations seeking a hike in electricity tariffs. The situation will only become clear in the upcoming hearings.

Objections have been filed from across the State in response to the petition. Subject matter experts from Udaipur also submitted their responses to the RERC which exposed the flaws in the corporation's claims. The highest burden, say experts, is expected to fall on small and economically weaker consumers.

The  situation will become clear after the upcoming hearings and final decision will be taken after that by RERC.
