Udaipur witnessed a tragic incident yesterday morning i.e.; Wednesday 24th July, when a 50 year old man named; Sanjay Babel, resident of Bhopalpura lost his life in the middle of the road. What was more tragic was the fact that despite of helping him, people just gathered around him and stared.
Working as a LDC at MLSU, Sanjay left his house on his bicycle to get milk. When he reached near Shastri Circle he suddenly lost his balance and fell down.
According to Pancham Mehta, a close relative of the deceased, “There were many people gathered around Sanjay but nobody came forward to even call any emergency service.”
The insensitivity of the locals has shocked Pancham who approached UT as a medium to speak his thoughts over the incident.
“Today it’s my relative, tomorrow it might be yours. If we kept on neglecting each other, humanity will be lost” said Pancham.
He added, “Udaipurties were never like this. We always rushed to help each other. We always set an example for courtesy, kindness and friendliness even towards strangers.”
Sanjay Babel, a lively man is survived by elderly parents, wife and two daughters.
