Resident Doctor abuse case: Political Party and NGOs come in support

Social and political parties have come forward to support Dr. Vibha Choudhary, a resident doctor, who is struggling for justice for over a week now. Dr. Vibha was allegedly being abused by Dr. Suresh Goyal, HoD of Pediatric Department, during a hospital round on 24th Aug.

 
Social and political parties have come forward to support Dr. Vibha Choudhary, a resident doctor, who is struggling for justice for over a week now. Dr. Vibha was allegedly being abused by Dr. Suresh Goyal, HoD of Pediatric Department, during a hospital round on 24 th Aug. Ever since the incident, Dr. Vibha has knocked doors of several administrative officers including Human Rights Commission, Superintendent of Police, RNT Medical College’s Principal etc. but no action has been taken against the accused doctor. Aam Admi Party hosted a meeting of all local communities and NGOs working for women rights on 5 th Sept and held a discussion on the strategy to get the justice for the victim. Husband of Dr. Vibha, who is also a doctor, was present in the meeting and gave his inputs. According to media reports, on 24 th Aug when Dr. Vibha was on round with her HoD, Dr. Suresh Goyal and other resident doctors, Dr. Suresh Goyal allegedly made insulting comments to Dr. Vibha as a result of which she became a subject of mockery for other residents. This incident shattered the resident who lodged complaint with different administrative bodies. An investigation committee was also formed by RNT Medical College administration but no action has been taken yet. It is also being alleged that Dr. Vibha is being allegedly pressurized by her own colleagues and seniors.
