Residents divided on strike; some resume, others adamant

More than 20 resident doctors including former president Dr. Kaptan Singh, ex convener Dr. Pawan Sharma and their supporting doctors ended the strike today morning and resumed duty. Many other resident doctors who are opposing Dr. Kaptan Singh, are however still on strike.
Resident doctors of Udaipur went on strike against alleged manhandling of a resident doctor by attendants of a relative.
Doctors demanding an arrest of all the accused, announced a pen down. One out of four accused surrendered himself last night at Hathipol Police Station. Police is searching for the other three accused.
Dr. Chandra Mathur, principal of RNT Medical College maintained that all doctors have returned to their work. When asked about few residents who are still on strike, Dr. Mathur has said that action will be taken against those residents who continue their strike. She said that the strike is not considered as legitimate.
About dissolving the executive committee of resident doctor’s association, Dr. Mathur told UT on phone that it is residents’ own decision and the administration has not taken any official decision on making new executive committee.
