  • 51 hospitals suspended in three months;
  • fines totaling ₹3 crore imposed on 24 hospitals in one month

Udaipur, July 17, 2026 | Rajasthan Government News Update: The State government has suspended 51 empanelled hospitas across Rajasthan from the RGHS scheme. This has been done after the authorities conducted their audits subsequent to regular complains of irregularities in financial and operational discipline under the RGHS scheme across the state.

Gayatri Rathore, the Principal Secretary (Medical and Health), said that the action has been taken in line with the government's zero-tolerance police against corruption, specially under the RGHS (Rajasthan Government Health Scheme).

Additionally, action was taken against 24 empanelled hospitals over the last one month, based on audit findings. The irregularities identified have resulted in penalties of approximately Rs 3 Crore. These decisions were reached after Additional Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nidhi Patel conducted detailed hearings with the hospitals and thoroughly examined the submitted records, available evidence, and facts.

What Irregularities Were Detected

Ms. Rathore explained that several serious financial and procedural irregularities came to light during audits and investigations. These included:

  • duplication of documents,
  • conducting excessive medical tests,
  • submitting claims by splitting services and procedures (which are normally bundled in a single package) to inflate payments,
  • absence of mandatory documents,
  • improper conversion of OPD patients into IPD patients to file claims.

Strengthening the Audit System

A total of 24 hospitals—including Paras JK Hospital (Udaipur), Zeal Hospital (Dungarpur), Marble City Hospital (Ajmer), Manipal Hospital (Jaipur), Soni Hospital (Jaipur), and Indus Hospital (Jaipur)—fall within the scope of the recovery proceedings.

Top Priorities in Implementation of RGHS

Harjilal Atal, Chief Executive Officer of the Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency, stated that transparency, financial discipline, and accountability are top priorities in the implementation of the scheme. The state government aims to ensure that every single penny from the exchequer is spent solely for the benefit of eligible beneficiaries. With this objective, the audit system is being made more effective, and strict action in accordance with the rules will continue to be taken in the future against any instances of fraudulent billing, irregular claims, procedural violations, or financial irregularities.
