In what can be marked as a blemish on the quality of roads prepared for the city by the administrators and curators of the City of Lakes, a mini-truck loaded with bricks suddenly sunk in by nearly a foot on a seemingly well-paved road in the Sutharwada area.

The Udaipur administration would now probably take notice of the fact that the roads of Udaipur can’t even bear a few tons of weight of a vehicle.

In what can be described as an amusing incident, the truck’s rear tyre went so deep that neither human muscle nor a jack could assist in cutting loose the stranded vehicle and its owners. The task took effect only when a crane came to their rescue.

According to the locals, the road had no hole or any damages which could cause this incident. “We were shocked to see, that the road was completely hollow from the inside, which shows the carelessness of the administration”, says Shekhar Sharma, who resides near the place where the incident took place.

The people of the area also alleging that low quality of material would have been used while constructing the road, which means that the administration control on quality of construction work on public utility services is very poor or maybe completely missing.
