In the press conference, commenting on the new policy by current BJP government, where only individuals who had education at least till 8th standard can compete in the election; Pilot said that “Declaring such a policy just before the Panchayat Samiti Elections is unethical. If this comes into action, 70% of contenders, who belong to lower section of society and who were not able to seek education will be disallowed.”

He added that, “Changing the titles of Rajiv Gandhi Centers to the name of Atal Bihari is not right. Rajiv Gandhi also received Bharat Ratna honor and he also served his country well.  Such a step is demeaning.”

It was informed that the party will declare the name of contenders in the upcoming elections in the coming days.

On speaking about the current affairs of ‘Religious Conversion’, ‘Love Jihad’ and such, he commented that, “It is a step by BJP to attract votes and to create an issue.”
