An increase in the number of seats in Meera Girls College is warranted seeing the situation prevalent in the State, demanded students of Meera Girl’s College. This concern was presented in the form of a Memorandum to the Additional Deputy Magistrate.

The students said that there are a very few girls’ college in the District and Meera Girls, being one of the biggest and most prestigious girls college in the region has less seats in more than four subjects, which is affecting the students.

Seats are full in the subjects of Hindi Literature, Political Science, Geography, History and Civics. There are more than five hundred application forms lying in the college and the fate of all these hundreds of girls is uncertain.

Due to lack of seats, the students are forced to opt for subjects like Home Science and Urdu. These subjects, as per the students are not preferred by everyone.

The students demanded an increase in 20% in the number of seats.
