A 17-year-old boy was found hanging from his ceiling fan yesterday evening at his house at Dabai ki Pula, Udaipur.

The incident was first brought to light by Hitesh Joshi, the shopkeeper where the deceased Shaitan Singh was working as a helper. Shaitan Singh hails from Shivpura Ajmer. According to the police, he was working at a Paan Cabin owned by Hitesh Joshi at Udiapol for the last few years.

Yesterday in the afternoon, Singh had gone to his room for some work. When he had not returned till the evening, Joshi set out for Singh’s home to check his whereabouts.

When Joshi reached there, he noticed that the room was locked from the inside. After knocking on the door several times, he felt that something is wrong and informed the police. The police broke into the room and found the teenage boy hanging from the ceiling fan.

The body was transferred to M.B. hospital’s Mortuary in order to conduct the postmortem.

After the postmortem was concluded, the body was handed over to the boy’s family members. The police have started their investigation into the matter, though no strong reasons have yet been found which would explain the incident.
