Trident, Udaivilas to Pay Rs.1 Crore to Nagar Parishad

Hotel Trident and Oberoi Udaivilas were given a notice by the Municipal Council as a large sum of money, which is approximately above Rs. One Crore, is due on their account in the form of City Development Tax.
The Trident Hotel, though has paid Rs. Twenty Four Lac to the Municipality on this account, today.
There have been continuous intimations from the Municipal Council to Hotel Trident, which has to pay a due amount of Rs. 59,70,808 and to Hotel Oberoi Udaivilas, which has to pay Rs. 88,35,851.
K.K Kumawat, Councilor of Ward No. 41 and the President of the Law Committee, Municipal Council has informed, “After getting the notice, the Hotel management has appealed in the high court, but the court has given the judgment in the favor of the Municipal Council. Accordingly, it has ordered the hotels to make the payment immediately”.
“The Municipal Council will get revenue of Rs. 1.12 crore, once both the hotels pay the amount”, said Kumawat.
According to the criteria, if a person/entity owns land of more than 2,700sq ft for residential purpose or if a person owns land more than 1,900sq.ft for commercial purpose then he/she will be liable for this tax.
