The trade of bajri sand and concrete remained effected today in Udaipur following increased rates of transportation and administrative action against vehicles found overloading bajri sand.
Representatives of Truck and Tractor Union held a meeting at Regional Transport Office (RTO) and decided to completely stop the transportation of Bajri till their demands are not fulfilled.
A memorandum was also handed over to the Additional Deputy Magistrate, Mohammad Yasin Pathan by the union leader Antosh Choudhary.
Antosh said, “The transportation rates of over loaded bajri vehicle have increased after strict orders by district administration to penalize those carrying more than 3 tonnes of bajri. This increased our cost of transportation. We used to pay Rs.490 for nine tones, now it is Rs.1000 which is unaffordable.”
