Local youths residing under TSP (Tribal Sub Plan) area have demanded 5.5 percent reservation under the already recognized 12 percent reservation for Scheduled Tribe in administrative and other services.

Under the banner of Regional ST/SC Sangarsh Morcha, a group of students protested outside collectorate and submitted a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

Mansingh Ninama, president of the Sangarsh Morcha said that the condition of ST in Southern Rajasthan was weaker than the tribal communities of East Rajasthan. Other communities are taking benefits of 12 percent reservation; hence, we demand 5.5% reservation for only TSP area.

The group also demanded to open Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University in the TSP area.
