Jaswant Menaria, Udaipur based TV actor has been given a notice by Udaipur’s Mahila Police Thana after his wife Poornima lodged a written complaint of harassment, abuse and torture for dowry against the actor who is playing the lead villain in daily soap Pratigya on Star Plus.

According to Narulal of Mahila Police Thana, the problem was going on since long, but after having multiple though unfruitful negotiations and discussions within the family, Poornima finally lodged a complaint against Jaswant and his mother on 6^th March.

According to reports, it was on 17^th February 2012 that Jaswant’s family members went to Poornima’s home and fought with her parents.

Though Poornima wishes to live with her husband and her in-laws, she nevertheless blames them for the torture and abuse. As per the information given by Poornima, Jaswant has also threatened her with divorce.

Poornima, a resident of Panerio Ki Madri informed the police that after getting married on 20^th November 2007 Jaswant went to Mumbai and is presently living in Andheri (West).
