Udaipur, May 01, 2026: As per reports, the UAE Foreign Ministry has instructed Emirates in Iran, Iraq and Lebanon to exit these countries immediately, citing regional developments. The government has also banned its citizens to travel from any of the mentioned countries. This development is effective May 01, 2026, when the UAE also exits its long standing membership of the OPEC.

UAE Official Says Iran Not to be Trusted

Meanwhile a senior official also spoke to Reuters on Friday, saying that Tehran cannot be trusted over any unilateral agreements it might make over the Strait of Hormuz. This statement indicates a deep mistrust on all sides as efforts to end the West Asian conflict seems to be held on a stalemate. The reports in media that mentioned new military strikes being planned by the US to compel Iran to negotiate, have pushed the oil prices to a 4-year high (USD 126) at one point on Thursday.

Iran Promises Wide Scale Attack

Two senior officials from Iran told Reuters that Iran has activated air defences and plans a wide response if attacked assessing the possibility of a US strike followed by an Israeli attack.

The US President Donald Trump, meanwhile, will be making a decision as the formal deadline of the ceasefire ends on Friday May 1. He will decide based on advisor inputs, on whether to end the war or present the case for extending the war in front of the Congress, under the War Powers Resolution of 1973.

Iran warned of "long and painful strikes" on US positions in the region if the US / Israel renewed attacks. Iran also reasserted its control over the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile Israel violations in Lebanon resulted in the death of 9 people including 2 children as per the Lebanon Health Ministry.
