Udaipur Raises Fund to Help Uttranchal Pilgrims

The well-off individuals and organizations of the city came forward and contributed for the relief and rescue of the flood ridden Uttaranchal where thousands of pilgrims have been stranded, many are missing and hundreds are dead.

Under the direction of Udaipur District Collector Vikas Bhale, fund of Rs.9 Lac has been collected and deposited in Chief Minister Relief Fund. It will be utilized for the search, rescue and rehabilitation missions in Uttarakhand.

The amount was collected in just an hour after the announcement from the district collector.

Collector has also appealed general public to come forward and lend their support to the cause. He said, “If anyone wishes to contribute, one can reach Additional Deputy Magistrate B.R Bhati, whose office is in collectorate compound, or one can contact B.R Bhati through these phone numbers 0294-2424620, 9414785418”.

While conversing with local media, Bhale said, “At the time of such calamities, there are three stages (1) Rescue (2)Relief and (3)Rehabilitation. Now is the time to provide Relief and Rehabilitation”.

S.P. Khetan, Shanti Lal Jain, Bheem Singh, Mohan Lal Menaria , Rajendra Harlalka, Sudhir Bakshi, Harish Rajani, ADM B.R Bhati, and Collector Vikas Bhale were among the people who contributed for the cause.
