Udaipur’s Rudrakshi Commissioned as Army JAG Officer
Rudrakshi Singh from Udaipur has become the city’s first woman to receive a commission in the Indian Army’s Judge Advocate General (JAG) branch after completing training at OTA Chennai
Udaipur, March 12, 2026 - Lieutenant Rudrakshi Singh Inda of Udaipur, reportedly the first woman from Udaipur to receive commission in the Indian Army’s Judge Advocate General (JAG) branch, was given a grand welcome on her return to the city on Wednesday (March 11).
After completing 11 months of training at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai, she was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army’s JAG department on March 7, 2026.
Rudrakshi has a B.Com LL.B degree from the University College of Law at Mohanlal Sukhadia University and an LL.M degree in Intellectual Property Rights and Management from the National Law University, Delhi. She has worked as a research associate, legal advisor and teacher while preparing for competitive examinations.
Earlier, she received a recommendation for the Indian Navy but missed the final seat by a few marks. Finally, on her seventh attempt, she received a recommendation for the Indian Army and secured All India Rank 4 in the JAG merit list in 2025.
