Rajasthan News | 'Videsh Sampark' Outreach Conference to Focus on Protection from Illegal Migration and Fraudulent Agents
Udaipur, July 10, 2026 | Rajasthan News: The 'Videsh Sampark - State Outreach Conference' will be held for the first time in Rajasthan, since its inception in 2017. This initiative, launched by the Ministry of External Affairs, has previously been held in collaboration with the state governments of Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab, Tripura, Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Andhra Pradesh.
Event scheduled for July 16 at RIC
The 'Videsh Sampark – State Outreach Conference' will be organized on July 16 at the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) under the joint aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs (Government of India) and the Government of Rajasthan. It will be co-chaired by Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary (CPV & OIA) of the Ministry of External Affairs, and V. Srinivas, Chief Secretary of the Government of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Foundation and the Department for Affairs of Non-Resident Rajasthanis (NRRs) are the nodal departments for this event.
Protection Against Fraudulent Agents and Illegal Migration
The Outreach Conference has primarily been held to create awareness among the public and relevant stakeholders on migration. It focuses on dissemination of the following information:
- regarding safe and legal migration;
- safeguards against fraudulent agents and illegal migration methods;
- details about the Ministry of External Affairs' schemes and initiatives related to consular services, passports, visas, and the Indian diaspora;
- enhance awareness regarding the interests and welfare of Indian citizens and workers employed abroad.
The program will further feature detailed discussions on various state government initiatives concerning the Rajasthani diaspora, investment and industrial prospects, skill development, tourism promotion, and ways to strengthen engagement with the diaspora community.
Chief Secretary Reviews Preparations
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas reviewed the preparations for the event and instructed all concerned officials to work in coordination. During a meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, July 9, the Chief Secretary reviewed the event outline, session plans and speakers, departmental responsibilities, guest management, session conduct, logistics, security arrangements, media coordination, and other operational details.

Attendees for the Prep Review
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretaries, senior administrative and police officials, the Regional Passport Officer, the Protector of Emigrants, and officials from various departments—including Industries, Tourism, Skill Development, Forest, Finance, Higher and Technical Education, General Administration, Art and Culture, Information and Public Relations, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Labour, Women and Child Development, Home, and Child Empowerment—as well as representatives from the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, the Divisional Commissioner and District Collector of Jaipur, the Rajasthan Foundation, and other relevant departments. Additionally, the District Collectors of Jodhpur, Jalore, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Nagaur, Barmer, Pali, and Churu joined via video conference.
