Rajasthan: Viksit Bharat–G RAM G Yojana Gains Fresh Momentum
Under Viksit Bharat–G RAM G Yojana, construction of Amrit Poshan Vatika and Amrit Gramin Haat Bazaar accelerated to address malnutrition in rural areas
UdaipurTimes, Sept 24, 2026 - A nodal meeting was held on Wednesday, September 23, at the Government Secretariat in Jaipur under the chairmanship of Krishna Kunal, Secretary, Rural Development Department, to review the effective implementation of the Viksit Bharat–G RAM G Yojana and the progress of convergence among various departments in Rajasthan.
Detailed discussions were held on rural livelihoods, strengthening basic infrastructure and ensuring the implementation of public welfare schemes at the grassroots level. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s efforts will open new avenues for prosperity, healthcare, education and self-reliance in rural areas, ensuring the overall and balanced development of every Gram Panchayat.
The meeting was informed that, under the Viksit Bharat–G RAM G Yojana, construction of Amrit Poshan Vatika and Amrit Gramin Haat Bazaar is being accelerated to address malnutrition and ensure nutritional security in rural areas.
Through coordination among the Education, Women and Child Development, Horticulture, Rajeevika and Panchayati Raj departments, the supply of fresh fruits and vegetables to schools and Anganwadi centres will be facilitated. This will also help provide greater economic empowerment to women associated with Self-Help Groups.
To support a brighter future for rural youth and students, priority is being given to the construction of Amrit Gyan Kendra (rural libraries), Atal Libraries and additional classrooms in schools. In addition, under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin), special emphasis is being placed on the construction and proper maintenance of community toilets in schools and rural areas.
For the protection of livestock, proposals for animal shelters and fodder production activities have been incorporated into the developed Gram Panchayat action plans.
In addition, with the aim of protecting the environment and promoting greenery, large-scale tree plantation and conservation of medicinal plants are being undertaken through initiatives such as Amrit Sanjeevani Parks, Namo Nurseries and watershed development projects.
