Yashwanti, a resident of Gujarat gave birth to a baby girl, premature by one month. What made this incident unusual was that the birth happened in a 108 Ambulance.

The mother was travelling with her brother from Gujarat to Jhansi in Madhya Pradesh, and when the bus halted at Bhatewar, Yashwanti felt pangs of Labor pain. This made her fellow passengers call for a 108 Ambulance. The Ambulance arrived and picked up the woman, it was while the vehicle was en-route to MB Hospital in Udaipur, that the pain got worse. Praveen Lohar, EMT with the Ambulance helped the woman deliver in the vehicle itself.

The baby and mother are in healthy condition and have been shifted to the Women’s Ward upon their arrival at MB Hospital.
