In a court ruling yesterday, the accused  Pushpendra Alias Pintu and Tulsi Kanwar, accused under the Gayatri suicide case were acquitted of the offences under Section 304(b) and 498(a) of the Indian Penal Court.

As per information provided by the accused’s lawyer, Advocate Ravinder Singh Hiran, the complainants  did not fulfill the required ingredients on charges levelledd against his clients and the complainants also tried to improve on their statements, but the charges levied could not be proved.

Hiran further confirmed that the accused were acquitted by ADJ (Women Atrocities) Masroor Alam Khan on 10th April 2014.

The deceqsed Gaytri was the sister in law of Pushpendra and daughter in law of Tulsi; she was married to Tulsi’s elder son Umaid Singh since 27.11.2004.

Gaytri’s father had filled a case against her in-laws blaming them of pressurizing his daughter to commit suicide.  This case was filled by him after his daughter had hung herself at her in-laws house, as per Hiran.

Since then the case continued and now yesterday the people accused under the case were acquitted from the charges levied on them.
