June 10, 2025 - A very sad news has come out from Bollywood. Veteran Hindi film director Partho Ghosh, maker of the popular film 100 Days and who has worked with many big stars like Nana Patekar, Madhuri Dixit, Mithun Chakraborty, Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi, has passed away on June 9.

According to reports, the 75-year-old Ghosh was suffering from heart ailment for some time. His demise has sent the entire Bollywood industry into mourning.

Madhuri Dixit, known as the Dhak-Dhak girl, expressed her sadness over his death. She shared a heartfelt post to pay tribute to him.

Madhuri wrote on her official Instagram account, "Partho Ghosh is a director who has given many such moments which will always be remembered. May God rest your soul. Your characters will always speak for you, Om Shanti".

Madhuri had worked with him in his first Bollywood film 100 Days, which was released in theatres in 1991. The film was a psychological thriller also starring Jackie Shroff, Javed Jaffrey and Munmun Sen. The budget of this film, which was released 35 years ago, was Rs 95 lakhs, but the movie earned around Rs 8 crores.

Ghosh contributed not only to Hindi cinema but also to Bengali films. His other Bollywood films are Geet, Dalaal, Teesra Kaun, Agni Sakshi, Jeevan Yudh, Ghulam-e-Mustafa and Khote Sikkey.

Apart from 100 Days, his other superhit films include Teesra Kaun, with Mithun Chakraborty in the lead role, Dalaal and Agni Sakshi with Nana Patekar worked. Nana Patekar starred in most of Ghosh's Bollywood films.
