Another incidence of robbery in broad day light took place today near Gattani Hospital, Bhupalpura, where an old man was targeted by three accused riding a motorbike. The trio snatched a bag full of Cash from the old man, after throwing chili power in his eyes.

Another incidence of robbery in broad day light took place today near Gattani Hospital, Bhupalpura, where an old man was targeted by three accused riding a motorbike. The trio snatched a bag full of Cash from the old man, after throwing chili power in his eyes.

Bhagwati Prakash, 60, s/o Nathu Ram Nandwana, resident of Sector 9, Hiran Magri, works from an office at Sector 11. As a member of the Pensioners Samiti, he collects the Electricity and Water bill payments from residents in various nearby localites of his area and deposits the amount in the bank every day. Thereafter, Prakash routinely passes by the Pensioners Samiti at Bhupalpura to give an account of his day’s activity.

Today, after depositing the bill payments of yesterday, Prakash collected his own pension of Rs. 9,500 from PNB bank and thereafter reached near Gattani Hospital to go to the Pensioner office.

Prakash was on his Scooty, when the three accused came from behind, threw Red Chili powder on his face and eyes and snatched the bag containing today’s bill payment collection of approx Rs. 45,000 of the day and the amount of his pension Rs. 9,500 in cash and a few receipts and challans. “The accused snatched the bag after throwing chili powder in my eyes”, said Bhagwati.

After the mishap, Police team, including ADSP City Tej Raj Singh, DySP Anant Kumar and C.I. Bhupalpura and C.I. Pratap Nagar went on the scene to begin their investigation.

At one of the readymade showroom situated near the place of incidence, CCTV cameras were installed; hence police have started their investigation making the CCTV captured information as the base.
