Sons donate Father’s Corpse to fulfill his will

Udaipur’s Rabindra Nath Tagore Medical College has received a body of an 89-year-old citizen, Sangram Singh Hiran (in photo above) of Udaipur, who passed away yesterday on 21 Jan. and wished his body to be donated for medical purposes, four years back.

Acting on the aspiration of their beloved father, sons of Sangram Singh, Deepak Hiran and Dr. Subodh Hiran, donated the body to medical college today.

Late Sangram Singh Hiran was retired from Indian Forest Services and served as an active social worker to various organizations, including Jawahar Jain School, Mahaveer International, Oswal Samaj etc.

Sangram Singh left for heavenly abode yesterday due to natural reasons; he is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter, 4 grandsons and one great grandson.

Today, after the religious customs, the body was taken to Department of Anatomy, RNT Medical College at 9 in the morning. Various prominent social figures came along with Hiran family to do the procedure.

Nitin Hiran, grandson of Late Sangram Singh informed UT, “we have given a request application and also provided an Affidavit at the collector’s office and after the approval, and completing the documentation we have shifted the body to college.”

The body will be used by medical students for study and research.
