Superintendent of Police Ajaypal Singh Lamba called for a meeting with all the petrol pump owners of the city to discuss the safety and security measures at the time of armed robberies. The meeting was held after observing the increasing number robberies in the Petrol Pumps.
Owners and in-charge of around 70 petrol pumps attended the meeting which was held in Police Line. Suggestions and complaints were thoroughly discussed by police officials and pump owners.
S.P Ajaypal Singh Lamba has suggested that no individual should be hired without proper verification of his identity and past work. Lamba also asked pump owners to install dual face CCTV cameras so that it can provide recording of whole day.
Other suggestions include ample lighting at petrol pump, proper security alarm system and other security measures.
S.P Lamba asked the owners to avoid keeping huge amount of cash in petrol pump and to keep on depositing it in bank.
The meeting continued for more than an hour.
