Udaipur RAS Officers Son makes it through IAS

24-year-old Zafar Malik, son of RAS officer Abrar Ahmed, who is currently posted as a C.O Collector Office has cleared the Indian Administrative Services Exam.

24-year-old Zafar Malik, son of RAS officer Abrar Ahmed, who is currently posted as a C.O Collector Office has cleared the Indian Administrative Services Exam.

Zafar has cleared the prestigious exam in the second attempt. He is the first Muslim from his ancestral village at Sawai Madhopur to have cleared this examination.

The good news in the family was celebrated by distributing sweets followed by appreciation from friends and relatives who came to wish the family at their government residence at Polo Ground.

Zafar, an ambitious young man does not boast of any outstanding academic achievements during the course of his study, but the self-confidence and zeal has proved to get him the much sought after achievement at last.

Abrar Ahmed, the proud father and mentor of Zafar said, “My son is very dedicated to his studies and career.”

Zafar is the youngest among three brothers, while their sister Anjum Afroz is the youngest and pursuing studies from Law College.

Abrar Ahmed, while informing about Zafar said, “He is fond of poetry and shayaris; he is big fan of Allama Iqbal.”

In a short conversation with UT, Zafar said that he was always inspired by his father but Rajiv Thakur, District Collector of Banswara has made a special place in his journey to clear the IAS exams.

“There are no short cuts for any achievements in life, dedication and hardwork is essential”, said Zafar Malik.

When asked about his source of study that helped him prepare for IAS, Zafar said, “Notes from IGNOU for History, India Year Book and Economic Survey are the few best sources for IAS preparation.”

C.O Abrar Ahmed’s eldest son Mazhar Imam is a Block Development Officer at Bharatpur, while the other son Azhar Jawed is a teacher at Sawai Madhopur.
