Two people faced disappointment when they could not cast their votes today as the ballots on their names were issued to some government officers. The incident was reported to District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar who assured investigation on the matter.

Two people faced disappointment when they could not cast their votes today as the ballots on their names were issued to some government officers. The incident was reported to District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar who assured investigation on the matter.

According to sources, Narendra Jain, resident of Dhan Mandi area went to the polling booth at Oswal Bhawan. Narendra was stopped by Booth Level Officer saying that the ballot on his name is already issued to a government officer.

Similar incident took place at Polling Booth in Taiyebiyah School where Naresh Sahu, a tea vendor was stopped from voting.

Members of BJP party objected on the issue and reported the matter to Collector Ashutosh Pednekar, who is also District Electoral Officer. Collector assured to investigate on the matter as how a ballot was issued to some government employees on election duty in the name of a common citizen.

UPDATE: District Collector has mentioned that ballots in all such cases will be cancelled.
