Former Sarpanch arrested for throwing Detonator on Polling Booth
Seven people including former Sarpanch of Jhadol Panchayat was arrested by the Jhadol police on Tuesday for throwing a detonator on a polling booth injuring 3 members of the Polling Team.

The investigation of the matter was started by the Police on 23th January after one of the victims, Rajkumar Kulshreshta lodged an FIR at Jhadol police station against unknown persons for creating hurdles In Government work and hurting him and two other members of polling team, viz. Bhagwan Das and Mukesh by throwing a detonator on the roof of a polling booth on 22nd January at around 11.30 pm while the 3 of them were sitting inside the school and working. Rajkumar, in his FIR said that the accused threw a detonator on the roof of the government school of Khankahd Panchayat due to which the blast happened and the falling plaster injured the team members – informed the Police.
During investigations the Police got information that the former Sarpanch Dharmesh Vadera and his supporters were unhappy with the rejection of his wife Asha Vadera’s nomination for the position of Sarpanch and with an intention to create such a situation due to which the voting would get postponed they had thrown the detonator on the Polling booth, police added.
After verification of the information the former Sarpanch Dharmesh Vadera , Durgesh Bhaat, Dinesh Trivedi, Mangi Lal Vadera, Devi Lal Vadera, Kanhaiya Lal Vadera and Shankar Lal Vadera were arrested by the Police under section 332,353,307 and 280 of IPC, Police said.
The investigating team, during the course of their investigations and interrogation, found out that the issue was heated up from the time of rejection of nomination of Asha Vadera by the Returing Officer as her resignation was not accepted by the Anganwadi Center where was working.
Since then, her husband Dharmesh and his supporters were protesting against the rejection of the nomination form and they had also presented a memorandum to the SDM of Jhadol village in relation to the matter. But when no major step was taken by the administration Dharmesh and his supporters decided to disturb the voting with an intention of getting it postponed so that Asha would get her resignation accepted and would get a chance to contest for the position of Sarpanch.
Interrogations and further investigations are underway.
