Udaipur, May 17, 2025: India's Operation Sindoor, had the entire world glued to the situation unfolding on the Indo-Pak border. The government has decided that rather that seclude the operation as a one off anti-terrorism act, it will now reach out to friendly nations and apprise those in power as well as civil societies of the rationale behind the operation and its outcome in order to shift global attention to the issue of terrorism, especially cross border terrorism. This initiative, though yet to receive an official comment from the MEA, is being seen as an activity similar to the one taken in the past by the UPA and NDA governments - present India's case on crucial matters.

To bring this into effect, the government, as per media reports, is forming a 8 multi-party MP led delegation, members of which, will reach out to differnt countries to specifically present India's stance on Pakistan sponsored cross border terrorism. Sources confirm that the delegation will be consisting of members from major national political parties and each group going to different countries will comprise of at least five parliamentarians and a senior diplomat and specialist of the Ministry of External Affairs. Media reports also mentiona that Ghulam Nabi Azad and Asaduddin Owaisi could be among the members of the delegation. Parties have been asked to recommend 4 names from within their party to the government. The BJP had also indicated that Congressman Shashi Tharoor will also be a part of the delegation, but the names submitted by the Congress to this effect has four names - that of Gaurav Gogoi, Syed Naseer Hussain, Raja Brar, and Anand Sharma, which has led the BJP to criticise the Congress for its choice of representatives. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Sanjay Kumar Jha and Supriya Sule have also been announced by the government.

As per media reports, the delgation will depart on May 21 and 22 and will visit Japn, Middle East, West Asia, South Africa, US, EU and Russia among others. The diplomats will assist the MPs with their presentations to government officials and members of civil societies in these countries. The Economic Times mentions that Salman Khurshid, MP from Congress will lead a delegation to Japan, South Korea, Singapore, etc. His group will also consist of JDU MP Sanjay Jha and Shringla. the delegation led by Supriya Sule will include Rajiv Pratap Rudy of the BJP, Manish Tewari from Congress, Tejaswi Surya, Brij Lal and Anurag Thakur of BJP.
