Hundreds of Jain community members took part in a rally to support ex home minister Gulabchand Kataria and Marble businessman Vimal Patni and protested against CBI for falsely framing both in the Soharbuddin Sheikh’s fake encounter.

Under the banner of Shree Mahaveer Jain Parishad, community members presented a memorandum in the name of President of India and demanded to revoke the name of both Kataria and Patni from the case.

“It is very unfortunate to see Gulab Chand Kataria and Vimal Patni’s names in the CBI chargesheet. Both are very well respected members of the community and never ever involved in any unlawful activities in their life”, said Rajkumar Fattawat of Mahaveer Jain Parishad.

Fattawat said, “If government doesn’t withdraw the names of both, then we will come up with more violent protest.”

The protest rally was started from Town Hall and concluded at Collector’s office. Jain community is continuously remonstrating against government and CBI since the names of Kataria and Patni were mentioned in the CBI chargesheet.

Kataria has recently received extension till 14^th June by Mumbai session court.
