Prime Minister Launches ₹1.22 Lakh Crore Development Projects in Banswara, Rajasthan

These projects are set to transform Rajasthan’s energy, water, transportation, and socio-economic landscape, driving sustainable development and regional growth

Udaipur, Sept 25, 2025: The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹1,22,100 crore in Banswara, Rajasthan, focusing on clean energy, water security, infrastructure, and employment generation.

In energy, power projects in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh worth Rs. 90,000 Cr were announced. Modi also inaugurated the Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (4x700 MW) worth Rs 42000 Cr, boosting renewable and nuclear energy capacity. Transmission projects under the Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) initiative will enable seamless transfer of 15.5 GW of green power to other states. PM-KUSUM feeder solarization projects will provide reliable electricity for irrigation, benefiting lakhs of farmers.

Water and irrigation projects worth ₹20,830 crore, including the Isarda Dam, Mor Sagar reservoir, and feeder canal works, aim to strengthen water security. AMRUT 2.0 drinking water projects in multiple districts ensure safe water access.


Infrastructure developments include flyovers, bridges, highways, and 116 Atal Pragati Path projects, along with a 250-bed RBM Hospital and IT & e-governance centers. Rail connectivity is enhanced with three new trains, including two Vande Bharat Express services. Three new trains, viz. Udaipur-Chandigarh Superfast, Bikaner-Dehi Cantt Vande Bharat and Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express were launched during this visit. The trains were launched virtually.

Over 15,000 youth received government job appointment letters, creating new employment opportunities, said the Prime Minister.

In a major boost to road infrastructure, Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of construction of flyovers at Bharatpur city, a bridge over the Banas River, and 116 Atal Pragati Path projects. He also inaugurated and dedicated to the nation multiple road projects related to National and State Highways in Barmer, Ajmer, Dungarpur districts among others. These projects worth over Rs 2,630 crore will improve regional road connectivity, ensure smoother traffic and enhance road safety.
