March 25, 2025 - Russia's 17-year-old rising star and tennis teen sensation Mirra Aleksandrovna Andreeva put up a stellar performance to win her semi-finals match and reach the finals of the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament. Earlier on, after winning her quarter-finals match she went on to become the youngest female player in the last 20 years to reach the final four.

Andreeva is the youngest woman to do so since Kim Clijsters, who lost to Serena Williams in 2001.

The ninth-seed Andreeva defeated Ukraine's 23rd seed Elina Svitolina in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3, in the quarter-final match and Poland's second-seed Iga Świątek in the semi-finals 7-6 (1), 1-6, 6-3.

This was Andreeva’s second win over Świątek in recent weeks, having defeated the Pole in a match during the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. She later went on to become the youngest player to win a WTA 1000 tournament and entering the world’s top 10 for the first time in her career.

Andreeva will now face top-seed Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka in the finals for the championship’s Women’s title to be played on Sunday at Indian Wells, California. Sabalenka defeated American Madison Keys 6-0, 6-1 in her semi-final match which lasted less than an hour.
