March 18, 2025 – Teen tennis sensation, 17-year-old Russian Mirra Andreeva stunned world number one Aryna Sabalenka to win her second consecutive WTA 1000 title. Andreeva defeated Belarusian Sabalenka 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the Women’s Singles final at the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament played in Indian Wells, California.

With this victory, Andreeva has extended her winning streak to 12 matches and become the youngest Indian Wells Open champion since Serena Williams in 1999. Andreeva had won her first WTA 1000 title at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship last month.

Meanwhile, Britain’s Jack Draper won his first-ever ATP Masters 1000 title by defeating Danish Holger Rune 6-2, 6-2 in the Men’s Singles final at Indian Wells. For the first time since 2021, two players outside the top 10 faced off in the tournament's Men's Singles final. Draper dominated the 12th seed Rune to claim the victory in just 69 minutes.
