Udaipur’s Khel Gaon to Get Cricket Pavilion, All-Weather Pool

The UDA-funded projects at Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon will support competitive training and events for local athletes

Udaipur, Aug 22, 2025 - Udaipur's Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon is set to receive two major sporting facilities — a cricket pavilion and an all-weather swimming pool, the second in the State after Jaipur. Both facilities are being developed by the Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) and will majorly benefit local athletes.

The all-weather swimming pool, being built at a cost of approximately Rs 6.5 crore, will be covered with a dome and will offer swimmers all international-level facilities.  The cricket pavilion is being built at a cost of Rs 1.82 crore and likely to be completed within the year.

District Sports Officer Dr Mahesh Paliwal shared that design for the swimming pool is underway, with funds already allocated by UDA. Tender process will begin soon. The facility is being developed to host international-level swimming competitions. Currently, around 200 swimmers are training in Udaipur, and the district has already produced 20 national and international-level swimmers.

Features of Cricket Pavilion

  • Seating capacity of 150 to 200 people
  • Will span 10,000 sq. ft., across two floors
  • Will include changing rooms
  • VIP lounge on the ground floor
  • First floor will be covered with a tin shed

Features of New Swimming Pool

  • Existing eight-lane pool will be upgraded
  • Dome will be installed over the pool
  • Will include a large gym and yoga room
  • Changing rooms
  • Advanced equipment to maintain water temperature
