Virat is close to achieving a big feat again in 2025, something he first did in 2018. He will have this chance in Visakhapatnam, the final and deciding match of the 3-match ODI series between India and South Africa.
In this match, Virat Kohli can score three consecutive centuries in ODI cricket. He has done this earlier and became the first Indian batsman to score three centuries in a row in ODIs. Rohit Sharma also achieved this in 2019. In world cricket, only 13 players have scored three consecutive ODI centuries. Virat did this in 2018, and now he has the chance to repeat it in 2025.

In 2018, Virat Kohli scored three consecutive centuries in the home ODI series against West Indies. He scored 140 in Guwahati on October 21, an unbeaten 157 in Visakhapatnam on October 24, and 107 in Pune on October 27.
Chance to Repeat History in 2025
In 2025, during the home ODI series against South Africa, Virat has already scored two centuries in the first two matches. He scored 135 in Ranchi on November 30 and 105 in Raipur on December 3. Now, he has a chance to score his third straight century in Visakhapatnam.
Virat Kohli also has the most centuries in ODI cricket. He has 53 ODI hundreds. In international cricket, he has 84 centuries in total — 30 in Tests, 53 in ODIs, and 1 in T20Is.
