A round of kicks, punches and whacking between supporters of two heavy weight wrestlers has been reported in the last day of Rajasthan Mewar Kesri Kushti Dangal held yesterday evening at Gandhi Ground.

The fight broke out over the issue of cash reward to the wrestlers Balbir Hathi and Sukhbir whose duel eventually resulted into a draw.

Some of the audience started abusing each other and got into a scuffle with one of the wrestlers. Soon, the argument turned into a bloody fight on the ground and a situation of havoc was created.

According to an eye witness, when the match between Balbir and Sukhbir ended without any winner, the organizing authority decided to divide the prize money equally between them. Over this, a man from the audience announced Rs.11000 to the winner, which he later denied. Seeing this, another person from the audience announced Rs.51000 to the winner and asked to continue the match.

Wrestling coach and organizing officials discussed and asked both wrestlers to re-fight on Monday morning. However, while the talks were going on, two groups of people started attacking each other. One of the wrestlers was also subjected to alleged assault.

The brawl continued till a few minutes before the police arrived on the scene and controlled the situation. The attackers fled away and no complaint was lodged by anyone.
