This was seen as an important step in their comeback. Both were scheduled to play two matches each. This also raised a question—how much money did Rohit and Kohli earn for playing those matches?
Both players made a “superhit” return in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, but their performances in the second match were very different. On Friday, Rohit Sharma was out on the first ball of Mumbai’s second match. In contrast, Virat Kohli continued his fine form. He scored 77 runs for Delhi and was named Man of the Match.
After the domestic games, the focus will shift to the ODI series against New Zealand. Initially, both players were expected to play two matches each. Rohit has already completed his quota, while Kohli may still play one more match.

According to the board’s salary rules, the match fees are divided into categories:

- Playing XI: ₹60,000 per match
- Reserve: ₹30,000 per match
Mid-Level Category (21 to 40 first-class matches)
- Playing XI: ₹50,000 per match
- Reserve: ₹25,000 per match
Junior Category (0 to 20 first-class matches)
- Playing XI: ₹40,000 per match
- Reserve: ₹20,000 per match
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli fall under the Senior Category. As a result, they earned ₹1,20,000 each for playing two matches. In addition, Kohli received a ₹10,000 bonus for winning the Man of the Match award in the second game.
