Ajay Maken, Central Minister for Sports inaugurated the Kesri Dangal (Wrestling Competition) at a wrestling arena located near Haridas Ji ki Magri. This event, organized by the Akhil Bhartiya Rajiv Gandhi Dangal Samiti is being held to commemorate the 20 th Death Anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. Nearly 400 wrestlers from all over the country will be participating in this three day event being hosted at Shree Chatr Bhuj Vyayam Shala, Haridas Ji Ki Magri.
Along with Sports Minister Ajay Maken, MLA Raghuveer Singh Meena and State Minister for Tribal Development and Sports, Mangilal Garasia inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. K.K. Sharma, Chief Secretary of Rajiv Gandhi Brigade and Neelima Sukhadia, District Congress President (City) were also present at the inaugural event. Addressing the audience, Ajay Maken said that this competition will give an opportunity to many national wrestlers. He assured that wrestlers will get benefit from the Government after the recently passed resolution in Parliament.
“The Ministry of Sports lacks officials from sports background and thus this development was restricted. We will try to build an effective team in our department so as to extend the work”, said Maken. He also assured to provide Wrestling Mattresses in Udaipur.
